Zunächst einmal vielen Dank für all die nützlichen Beiträge, dies ist eines der besten Foren für R18 Diskussionen geworden. Zweitens, entschuldigen Sie sich für mein Deutsch. Ich bin Engländer, lebe in der Schweiz und mein Deutsch ist nicht so stark, wie ich es gerne hätte.
Nach den ersten 3000km habe ich ein paar Gedanken und Fragen. Jede Antwort ist willkommen, aber nicht obligatorisch.
Ich liebe das Motorrad und den Motor, aber ich denke über ein paar Modifikationen nach.
Mein erster Kritikpunkt ist, dass sie es nicht mit ein wenig mehr Bodenfreiheit hätten bauen können. Es setzt so leicht auf, dass ich wirklich aufpassen muss. Ich mag die Trittbretter, aber würde es mit Rasten einfacher werden?
Welche Reisegeschwindigkeit ist am besten? Ich fahre gerne mit 130 km/h, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es für längere Zeit bei 150 km/h angenehm wäre. Als ich das Motorrad beim Händler abholte, sagte er, dass man nicht zu lange auf der Autobahn sitzen bleiben sollte, während der Motor einläuft. Bei 130 liegt er bei 2900 U/min und fühlt sich gut an, aber ich wollte die Erfahrungen anderer hören. Wie hoch ist Ihre Reisegeschwindigkeit?
Normalerweise fahre ich das Motorrad im Rock-Modus, denn nach einer Weile wirken alle anderen Modi etwas blutarm. Ich vertraue darauf, dass das nichts abnutzen wird. Vielleicht sollte ich es mit einem anderen Auspuff aufmachen?
Könnte man nicht eine Tankanzeige einbauen? Ich weiß nicht, ob die diesjährige Version eine hat? Es ist ein bisschen ärgerlich, wenn ich das Motorrad eine Woche lang nicht gefahren bin und nicht mehr weiß, wie viel Benzin ich getankt habe. Irgendwelche Tipps?
Ich habe gerade eine abnehmbare Sissy Bar (Motea) gekauft und bin gerade dabei, sie zu montieren. Ich mache mir Sorgen, dass die Taschen zu sehr herausragen, so dass ich sie nach der Sommerreise mit meiner Freundin in Spanien vielleicht wieder umbauen muss. Vielleicht ist die R18 nicht wirklich ein Langstreckenkreuzer, sondern eher für Kurzstrecken geeignet, und ich sollte mir eine RT oder eine GS oder etwas anderes kaufen, wenn ich nach Spanien fahre.

First of all thanks for all the useful posts, this has become one of the best forums for R18 discussions. Secondly, sorry for my english. I'm English, living in Switzerland and my German isn't as strong as I'd like it to be.

I love the bike and the engine but I'm thinking about some modifications.
My first criticism is that they couldn't have built it with a little more ground clearance. It touches down so easily that I really have to be careful. I like the footboards, but would footpegs make it easier?
What cruising speed is best? I like to drive at 130 km/h, but I'm not sure if it would be comfortable at 150 km/h for a long time. When I picked up the bike from the dealer he said not to sit too long on the freeway while the engine breaks in. At 130 it hits 2900rpm and feels good, but I wanted to hear other people's experiences. What is your cruising speed?
I usually ride the bike in rock mode because after a while all other modes seem a bit anemic. I trust that will not wear anything. Maybe I should open it up with a different exhaust?
Couldn't a fuel gauge be installed? I don't know if this year's version has one? It's a bit annoying when I haven't ridden the bike for a week and I don't remember how much gas I put in the tank. Any tips?
I just bought a detachable sissy bar (Motea) and am in the process of assembling it. I'm worried that the pockets will stick out too much so I might have to rearrange them again after the summer trip to Spain with my girlfriend. Maybe the R18 isn't really a long haul cruiser but more suited to short haul and I should get an RT or a GS or something else when I go to Spain.
All thoughts and considerations are welcome.
